Hello, I am facing a situation I have never had to deal with before, so I am looking for advice. I was commissioned to develop a product for a publisher whom I've done work for in the past, so I foolishly did not ask for a deposit. The work has been completed and submitted over 6 months ago, but the publisher has yet to even review the files, let alone approve the art, request revisions or make any sort of payment. I have contacted them and asked for the reason for the delay, and have been given an explanation that is only partly satisfactory. At this point, I am thinking that, with all the files for the work in place, I could probably self-publish this project and make as much, if not more, than the agreed price with the publisher. There are no copyrighted characters or ideas in the work in question. What is the common practice and protocol, if any, for withdrawing work that has been submitted but has neither been reviewed nor accepted...in fact probably has not been looked at? In your (meaning you, the reader) opinion, what is a good interval to allow to pass before withdrawing work, and what is the best approach so that I might not be presented as an unreliable freelancer to future prospective clients? Thanks I didn't find the right solution from the Internet. References: www.wetcanvas.com/forusdf/sfsdfConsumer Product Video Marketing
